Josh Ogilvie
President
Josh brings a wealth of experience to the president’s role as a teacher, department head, provincial curriculum team writer, and team leader. Additionally, he has taught pre-service teachers at the university level in the faculties of Education and Kinesiology, while also serving as a mentor and coach for practicing teachers in a Master of Education program. Josh actively collaborates with stakeholders and organizations in the health and education sector while also regularly facilitating professional learning experiences for teachers and schools on a range of topics related to PHE, teaching, learning, assessment, and more.
Stephanie Mervyn
1st Vice President
Stephanie is a distributed and experiential learning teacher in a rural setting with much of her work focusing on connections. She was a member of the PHE curriculum writing team with Josh, has taught the Elementary PHE and Secondary PHE courses with the West Kootenay Teacher Education Program, been in the role of a department head previously and has always participated in as many learning opportunities as possible within districts that she has been a part of. Stephanie enjoys all that the outdoors has to offer including hiking, snowboarding and exploring the local area with her family.
Chad Oatway
2nd Vice President
Chad has always been drawn to being active where he grew up loving the outdoors and playing multiple sports. Since beginning his teaching career in 2005 in the New Westminster School District, Chad has had the opportunity to work with youth of all ages as a Foods & Nutrition, Physical & Health Education, Career Education, Sport Leadership, Math, and Science teacher. Chad currently works at Fraser River Middle School as a grade 8 generalist teacher and is a District Physical Literacy Mentor. He coaches various sports in both the district and community and is a sport director for a multi-sport camp in New West. Personally, Chad loves being active with his family, coaching his children, and being involved in athletics and sport.
